RISE Youth Ministry
6th-12th Grade Students
At First UMC, we believe in providing a welcoming and safe space where all 6th–12th grade students can grow in their faith at their own pace. Whether it’s your first time stepping into a church or you’ve been on your faith journey for years, RISE is a place where you belong.
Our mission is to inspire and support students as they explore their relationship with Jesus, deepen their understanding of Scripture, and experience the power of prayer and worship. Through music, devotion, and engaging activities on Sunday nights, as well as exciting events and retreats throughout the year, RISE creates meaningful opportunities for growth, connection, and transformation.
We know that faith is a journey, not a destination, and we embrace each student just as they are. God is continuously working in our lives, raising us from death into life, and we are here to walk alongside your family every step of the way.
Parents, We’ve Got You Covered Too!
While students are discovering their place in faith, parents are invited to connect and grow in our newly-formed group, Roots and Wings. This supportive community is designed to encourage parents as they navigate raising teenagers, providing a space for sharing, learning, and building meaningful relationships with others.
At RISE, we’re not just a youth program—we’re a family. Join us and discover how God is moving in and through our community!

We believe in the power of a supportive and intergenerational faith community, and there are many ways for adults to play a meaningful role in our RISE Youth Program. Consider joining us as a mentor, meal provider, or second adult to help nurture and inspire the next generation of believers.

As a mentor, you’ll have the chance to make a lasting impact by building relationships with our youth. You might choose to join us on retreats, lead a special Bible study during Confirmation, or explore a topic close to your heart. Mentors help guide students as they grow in faith and navigate life’s challenges.

Sunday evenings are a time for fellowship and connection, and we rely on volunteers to provide meals for approximately 15 youth and adults. Whether you prefer to cook or arrange for a meal, we encourage you to stay and enjoy the meal with us—it’s a great way to get to know the students and leaders!
-
This vital role requires no preparation or special skills—just bring your love for God and a willingness to help keep our youth safe. As a second adult, you’ll serve as an extra set of hands and eyes during all youth and children’s events, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Your involvement matters! By stepping into one of these roles, you’ll help create a space where our youth feel valued, loved, and encouraged in their faith journey. Let’s work together to build a strong community where everyone thrives.

We’re excited to use TeamSnap to help students take ownership of their faith journey and stay connected. Through TeamSnap, your child can easily view upcoming events, ask questions, and engage with the Youth Director and others in the group.
Parents, please register by providing basic information using the link below. You’ll receive an email invitation to join our team and complete your account setup. Together, let’s create a more connected and engaged youth community!
